Monthly Reflection: Justice & Wheel of Fortune

Last month, we pulled the Two of Swords - and there could not be a better card to close out that month with than Justice. I guess you could say, we’ve ended the month with an evolved version of the card we entered into the month with, and we like to see evolution and growth around here! Interestingly, our card for June is the Wheel of Fortune. Not only is it our Card of The Year for 2026 (you can read the blog post about that here), it’s also the subject of next week’s podcast episode, Wheel of Fortune & Finding Stability in The Face of Uncertainty.

So, what does this all mean?

May Reflection - Justice

At the start of May, the Two of Swords asked us to be wary of analysis paralysis, while still being mindful of the decisions in front of us.

To quote past me,

“That doesn’t mean to say you shouldn’t weigh up the choice, or choices, in front of you. Rather, it’s about making sure we take them in the right spirit. Some decisions are bigger than others. Not all decisions need to be considered with the same weight.”

Yes, I was really talking about ‘weighing up’ at the start of the month, and here we Justice. If any card signals ‘weighing up’, it’s the Justice card. I mean, one of its key symbols is a set of scales for a reason!

Justice is about evaluating where you are, taking stock, and eliminating that which is creating imbalance in your life, which is an evolution of where we started.

In the Two of Swords, we were cautioned against analysis paralysis and getting too ‘in our heads’. Essentially, it was a message not to sweat the small stuff.

And Justice signals we’ve indeed learned that lesson and gained perspective.

Because in this card, we are discerning what belongs in our life and what doesn’t. And we can only do that because Justice indicates a clear, black and white, unwavering framework for us to go by. There is no grey area in Justice. No maybes. No ‘I’m not sure’. Because there is a guideline.

So, what this indicates is that, as we navigated the month of May, a clear guidance system took shape for us. This is a collective reading, so this really could be relating to any aspect of your life. It could be a broad philosophy or moral outlook about who you are and who you want to be. It could be relationally, what you’re willing to accept and what you’re not. It could be energetically, what you’re willing to do and what you’re not. Love life. Family. Work. The key here is that it is giving you a stronger framework of what you consider to be ‘good’ and ‘bad’, in a certain area of your life.

Once we have that structure, the decisions that might have once paralysed us become a lot easier to make. Because when we ‘weigh up’ our options, it becomes really obvious where it sits.

With this in place, you might have found yourself re-evaluating things. Asking, “Does this align?” Maybe, you’ve found that certain things don’t align. And perhaps, you’ve taken steps to address these things.

And I have to say, this feels quite big. This feels like a glass-shattering moment. You know what I mean - once we ‘see’ it, we can’t ‘unsee’ it. And so, as we navigate our way ahead in the month of June, the Wheel of Fortune asks us yet again, what stays and what goes?

But here’s the thing - we have our guidance system now. We’re not umming and erring anymore. We’re not questioning and second-guessing ourselves. We’re not hesitating. It’s black and white. Clear as day. And we can’t unsee it.

June Outlook - Wheel of Fortune

Isn’t it rather fitting and somewhat poetic that the Wheel of Fortune would make an appearance in our Monthly Reflections, at the midpoint of the year?

The Wheel of Fortune is about patterns and cycles, and you could say that, as I pull these cards for us month by month, we are embracing natural cycles. The cycle of each year, the cycle of each month. This card showing up really honours it.

Beyond that, let’s talk about what this card represents. It’s uncertainty, change and unpredictability. So, I’m going to say something I said at the start of the year. Expect the unexpected?

But, I guess, now we’re mid-way through the year, I’m also going to suggest something else - expect the unexpectedly expected.

A really common theme so far this year (for me, but also for those around me, and we’ve also seen it a bit in the broader world too), is repeating patterns, or history repeating. Things that we think are concluded rearing their head once again.

And with this repeated history, we are asked a few questions:

  • Are we ready to let this go?

  • Do we want to repeat this again?

  • In what ways have you evolved from who you were when you last experienced this?

In some scenarios, we might realise that something was never fully resolved the first time around, and we’re being given an opportunity to do so now. In others, it can simply be a reminder of how much we’ve grown and changed for the better. Either way, when we find ourselves in these history repeating scenarios, we have to ask ourselves whether it’s something we want to hold onto.

Seeing this as the card for June, it’s important to be aware of what’s unfolding, particularly when situations arise that feel like they’re dredging up the past, or tipping a hat to it.

And this is where May’s card, Justice, is so important. We have this evolved framework by which to evaluate these things.

Because chances are, you have grown and evolved, and that’s reflected in the guidance system you’ve built for yourself.

If we can bring the discernment of Justice with us into the month ahead, we can, not only evaluate these repeating patterns more effectively, but we can also be more prepared when the unexpected arises.

Who knows where we meet at the end of this month!?

Have a wonderful June, my friends!

See you on the other side.

One seemingly ordinary day back in 2016, while I was working in a small suburban bar, a random acquaintance handed me a tarot deck through a moment of sheer synchronicity and changed my life forever. Being a tarot reader wasn’t something I thought would be in the cards for me (pun unintended, hehe) yet here I am, years later, these cards having completely altered the course of my life.

Since that moment, I have done hundreds of readings for other people. Friends and family, complete strangers, sceptics and non-sceptics, in-person and across the internet, in the UK and across the world. I never cease to be astounded by the wisdom contained in those 78 cards. These cards are so much more than a predictive tool. These cards light the way forward for us to create our own future, help us as we navigate life’s ups and downs. This is what I strive to do for you when doing your reading.
